“Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world”

Since we started raising awareness about the global humanitarian crisis, particularly the Syrian plight, we have spoken to more than 5000 people across 50 venues, including the House of Parliament event “Sanctuary in Parliament” and to local communities, schools & colleges and other big events. The 60 minutes session is divided into two sections:

20 minutes interactive workshop with locals/students involves:

  • General knowledge check for audience
  • Stereotypes/myths about refugees
  • Opinions to tackle/respond to the humanitarian crisis

40 minutes talk is structured as follow:

  • Introduction about Syria’s history; Diversity in cultures, religions, ethnicity of the people.
  • Reasons behind the war in Syria, providing deeper understanding of our current global politics.
  • Events that took a place inside Syria, untold stories and the global humanitarian refugee crisis.
  • Suggestions on how can we help, why should we help and how to make a difference.
  • Personal experience of the speaker.
